JGNDPS Open University accelerates admissions for its first academic session 2021-22

Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, the only Open University in the State of Punjab,hasaccelerated admissions for the eight certificate courses for its first Academic Session. Addressing the faculty and staff in the meeting held on its campus, the founder Vice-Chancellor Prof.Karamjeet Singh apprised that the need-based innovative programmes ranging from technologically-driven courses like Certificate courses in Cyber Security,Digital Marketing, Artificial Intelligence and its Applications,Creativity and Innovation in School Educationto the progressive courses likeValues and Learning of Sikhism,Rural Management, Effective Business and Social Communication are getting good response, The Six month certificate courses are being offered at a very nominal fee of Rs. 4000 to Rs. 6000 from the very first academic session 2021-22. However, the learner can take upto 2 years to complete the course asthe freedom to the learners is offered in the form of pace of learning,transfer of credits, eligibility for enrolment and age of entryto make the courses suitable not only for the new learners but also for the in-service professionals and entrepreneurs.
Dr. Anita Gill, Dean Academic Affairs informed that the University shall offerinstant service to the students through ten learner support centres(LRC)already set up in the Government colleges at Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana,Sangrur,Bathinda,Mohali, Faridkot,Dakha and at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. Assistance shall be provided as required by the learners during their course of study with PSOU.These centres will advise, counsel, provide vocational guidance, hands on experience, library services and render any other services for the convenience of the students.
JGNDPS Open University accelerates admissions for its first academic session 2021-22. Prof. G. S. Batra, Director, Planning and Development of the University informed about the details of the Schools that have been set up to run the courses.He also informed that the admissions for the undergraduate degree courses offered by all schoolswill remain open till 15thNovember, 2021 without late fee for the current session as approvedby the UGC. The process is underway and the academic calendar for the same is available on the University website www.psou.ac.in.
