TSPL wins apex CSR ‘Gold’ award for community development program

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), the largest thermal power plant in Punjab,at Mansa, was awarded‘Gold’ in Apex India CSR Excellence Award for outstanding achievement in Community Development Program, by the Apex India Foundation.

TSPL was recognized for its impactful community development projects in villages around the power plant, ensuring better amenities for the rural community at large and enhancing their quality of life.The company has undertaken several need-based infrastructure projects in the periphery,addressing key concerns of the community, from better sanitation facility for children in the school to transforming the garbage disposal yard into a community park, access road for facilitating man and material movement, sports infrastructure, etc.

Expressing his gratitude on receiving the accolade, Vikas Sharma, CEO and WTD, TSPL said, “We stay committed to our mission of giving back to the community and will continue to support them and enable them in all possible ways.Besides our interventions in the developmental dimensions of sustainable livelihood, quality healthcare and education, we will work together to ensure community’s access to required amenities and create public assets in our mission to ensure a better standard of living of the community.”

Praising TSPL’s efforts in creating significant community assets,Baldev Singh, Sarpanch of Chellanwali village, said, “I am thankful to TSPL for transforming the local garbage dump into a wonderful community park, with rides for children and a relaxation space for the elderly. We look forward to their support in other projects as well.”
