JGNDPS Open University organizes One Day Seminar on the 553rd Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University , Patiala organized a one day seminar on the theme of “Sat Guru Nanak Pargateya” to mark the 553rd birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. In his presidential address Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh,Vice Chancellor, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University told that JGND PSOU is Punjab State’s first Open University that was established in the year 2019 to mark Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th birth centenary and every year University celebrates Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab by holding academic deliberations so as to propagate and promote Guru Nanak’s message of equality, brotherhood and peaceful coexistence.
Dr. Sarabjinder Singh, Dean,Humanities and Religious Studies, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar was the keynote speaker for the seminar. He emphasized that we must revisit and remember Guru Nanak’s tradition and wisdom which is the forbearer of ultimate truth.
Dr. Ratan Singh Jaggi, eminent Sikh Scholar was the special guest for the occasion. He urged all to follow and propagate Guru Nanak’s message as manifested in the bani of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.
Prof. (Dr.) Gurdip Singh Batra, Dean Academic Affairs of the University officially thanked all the dignitaries, guests and delegates for gracing the occasion.
In the technical session Dr. Kanwalvir Singh Dhindsa, Registrar of the University, welcomed the guests. Prof(Dr.) Jaspal Kaur Kang from Punjab University, Chandigarh was the chairperson of the session and Dr. Manvinder Singh from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar was the special guest. Dr. Amarjit Singh, Assistant Professor and Parampreet Kaur, Assistant Professor from JGND PSOU presented their research papers.Dr. Amitoj Singh, Associate Dean, presented the vote of thanks.S. Sukhdev Singh, Assistant Professor was the convener of the seminar. Keeping up with the Sikh tradition and spirit Guru Ka Langar was distributed on the occasion.
JGNDPS Open University organizes One Day Seminar on the 553rd Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. JGND PSOU runs several degree/ diploma and certificate courses in the open distance learning mode at a very affordable cost and in an easily accessible manner for all learners throughout the state of Punjab.
