Justice Avneesh Jhingan visits District Jail Rupnagar

Justice Avnish Jhingan of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh (Administrative Judge, Rupnagar Sessions Division) today visited District Jail Rupnagar.
This visit has been run by National Legal Services Authority and Punjab State Legal Services Authority under the”Haq Hamara Bhi To Hai” campaign.
On this occasion, Justice Avnish Jhingan distributed special cards to the prisoners and transferees, in which all information of their cases is available. Apart from this, he listened to the problems of the inmates and gave directions to the jail administration to take action and he himself went to the barracks to inform the inmates about the right of appeal and also addressed the inmates in detail.
He also visited the legal aid clinic in the jail.
He instructed the jail administration that if any prisoner wants legal help, the matter should be brought to their attention immediately. He specially visited the hospital built in the jail and took stock of the health of the sick prisoners.
On this occasion, the Judges of the Sessions Division, besides the Secretary District Legal Services Authority, S. P., DM Rupnagar, and Deputy Superintendent Jail were also present.
