A Seminar on Cardiac problems and their prevention was held in Senate Hall of Punjabi University, Patiala by Bhai Ghaniya Health Centre, and Punjabi University Patiala in collaboration with Columbia Asia Hospital, Patiala on 6th Nov, 2017.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Sandeep Thakkar, DM Cardiology discussed about the common cardiac problems and their prevention. Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, PatialaDr B.S.Ghuman presided over the seminar.
Senior Medical Officer , Dr.Regina Maini said that cardiac problems are increasing day by day, especially the younger population is getting more day by day , by rectifying the risk factors the problems can be prevented. She highlighted the achievements of Bhai Ghaniya Health Centre.
Registrar, Dr Manjit Nijjar of Punjabi University, Patiala welcomed the guests and Dr.Inderjit Dean academic affairs proposed the vote of thanks.
Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University, Patiala Dr.B.S.Ghuman appreciated the working of Health Centre and encouraged the Health Centre for arranging such types of informative lectures in future. He appreciated the renowned cardiologist Dr Sandeep Thakkar for explaining cardiac problems and their prevention in a very simple manner. He said he will explore possibility of starting course in MBA (Hospital Management) jointly with corporate hospital after having discussion in this regard.
Facilities Being Provided at Punjabi University Health Centre
Health Centre remains open for 24 hours a day, 7days a week, even on all holidays and festivals and provides free consultation and free medicines to all the students of the University. Free consultation is being given to all the staff, faculty and employees of the University and their dependents. Free medicines are given in case of emergencies also. Health care services are also provided in all Youth Festivals, Sports Activities, Conferences, Seminars and NSS Camps.
Laboratory of Health Centre is fully equipped with Cell Counter and Biochemistry Analyser and are doing all Routine investigations. Health centre is also equipped with ECG, X-Ray facilities and is being done free of cost to students and at Govt. rates to the employees and their dependents.
Punjabi University Health Centre have got the authorization from Punjab Pollution Control Board for the safe disposal of Biomedical waste and all the waste is sent to an authorized firm at Ludhiana.
