Patiala police is in a state, where they are unable to express their joy or sorrow. In the morning Patiala police achieved success on nabbing drug paddlers and were happy. In evening a SHO was suspended, phone tapping controversy gets murkier.

Yesterday Patiala police have nabbed three persons, including a woman, with 2 kg of heroin, being transported through an Ola cab worth around Rs. 10 crores. The Patiala SSP, Mandeep Singh Sidhu, said, “The police have arrested an Ola cab driver identified as Rashid Ali (26) of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, Naris (21) and Zeenat (27), both of Mumbai, along with the drug haul valuing approximately Rs 10 crore in the international market, which they were transporting from Delhi to Moga.”

One same day SHO kheri Gandian Sohan Singh was suspended on the complaint of Ghanaur MLA Madan Lal Jalapur who raised questions on the working of a case involving assault of a congress sarpanch, when on November 15, 25-30 persons had entered Kheri Gandian police station and attacked Takhumajra Congress sarpanch Harsangeet Singh. He was brutally assaulted at the hospital also.

Another controversy is haunting Patiala police, for tapping the ruling party MLAs phone. Samana Congress MLA Rajinder Singh son of senior congress leader Lal Singh alleged CIA Samana incharge inspector Vijay Kumar for tapping his phone calls. But Patiala police denied their involvement in any such activities, here on Friday, after shifting CIA Samana incharge Inspector Vijay Kumar.

On Tuesday, during district grivences redressel committee metting , four Congress MLAs-Rajinder Singh (Samana), Madan Lal Jalalpur (Ghanour), Nirmal Singh (Shutrana) and Hardial ingh Kamboj (Rajpura) raised serious questions over the working of district police.
