Dr. Ganda Singh Career Guidance and Counseling and Placement Centre of GSSDGS Khalsa College Patiala, organized a seven day Faculty Development Program on Teaching Pedagogy, Teaching Ethics and Value Education commencing from 18th December to 24thDecember, 2017. The objective of this faculty development program is to create awareness on the need and importance of teaching pedagogy, innovations in teaching, value education and teaching ethics.
The Faculty Development Program commenced with an inaugural session conducted by Professor Achhru Singh, Dr. Sarbjinder Singh and Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha. All the speakers graced the program by their enlightening words of wisdom. Large number of faculty members with diverse academic background from various institutions of the region participated with great enthusiasm and benefited from the learnings and experiences shared by various resource persons.
Principal, Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha said that it is an endeavour intended for teachers and research scholars to develop pedagogical competence, teaching ethics and value education. He also said that this program will provide an opportunity for the teachers to learn, invent and innovate in their respective fields of teaching and learning by transforming from a teacher to a Guru.
The program also included the interactive sessions, brain storming and brain stilling sessions after the extensive technical sessions so as to clear the doubts of the participants. By the end of the FDP participants will present a report to Dr. Ganda Singh Career Guidance and Counseling and Placement Centre. After the evaluation of their reports, first three reports will be honoured.
Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Deputy Principal and Head of Commerce and Management is acting as the co-ordinator of the FDP. She thanked the esteemed experts from different fields for delivering the discourses and talks on teaching ethics, pedagogy and value education.
