L.R.Mundra Scholarship provided to Shweta  Saini by Saini Charitable Education Trust

Saini Charitable Education Trust ,Saini Bhawan Rupnagar has provided L.R.Mundra memorial scholarship of Rs. 3 lakh to Shweta Saini,who is doing BS-MS  five year dual degree programme in Biology at prestigious Indian Institute of Science Education and Research(IISER) Mohali .

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Academy Rupnagar director Sukhjinder Singh handed over the cheque in this regard to Shweta Saini during a function held at Saini Bhawan.

While speaking on the occasion Sukhjinder Singh lauded donor of scholarship late L.R. Mundra for his efforts in encouraging students to pursue higher education.

He congratulated the Saini Charitable Education Trust for starting the scholarship.

L.R.Mundra Scholarship provided to Shweta Saini by Saini Charitable Education Trust. It may be mentioned that the Shweta Saini was selected for the scholarship by a five member committee of experts.

While speaking on the occasion Shaweta Saini thanked the Trust for providing her the scholarship and that that she would try to meet the expectations of the Trust.

Chairman of the Saini Charitable Education Trust Balbir Singh Saini also spoke on the occasion.

Trust vice chairman Dr Ajmer Singh,president Rajinder Saini,secretary Amarjit Singh Saini,legal advisor advocate Ravinder Singh Mundra. trustees Dr Jaswant Kaur Saini, Rajinder Singh Giran,Ajit Singh,Daljit Singh,Harjit Singh Giran,Jagdev Singh ,Surinder Singh,Innerwheel Club president Kulwinder Kaur, S.M. Singh,Kuldeep Singh Golia were also present on the occasion.

L. R. Mundra, a retired Asst. Commissioner of Delhi Police, instituted a scholarship in his name- “L. R. Mundra Scholarship” under the aegis of Saini Charitable Education Trust (Regd.) Ropar to promote higher studies in renowned/premium Indian institutes. The amount of Rs. Seventy lakh, in the form of a corpus, donated by Sh. L. R. Mundra has been deposited in a bank account in the name of Saini Charitable Education Trust (Regd.) Ropar. The interest accruing from the stated corpus, put in the form of a ‘Term Deposit’, is used to fund the scholarships after meeting sundry expenses. Saini Charitable Education Trust (Regd.) Ropar is an established organisation disbursing scholarships to the deserving students after careful scrutiny of the submitted applications by the students.
