LamrinTech Skills University signs MoU with ITEES Singapore to support 1.5 lac students in Punjab

Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab (LTSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an international elite Institute, ITE Education service of Singapore for collaboration in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training of students in Punjab. The MoU was signed virtually by Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura, Chancellor LTSU and Bruce Poh. CEO, ITEES Singapore.

Lauding the efforts of the University, Dr. Kaura said that the tie-up with globally ranked institution will help the LTSU in engaging with ITEES for purpose of transforming the technical and vocational education training landscape to benefit the youth of Punjab. The skill education and training provided by ITEES Singapore will provide skilling opportunities for aspiring learners beyond the boundaries of the location and space.  Dr. Kaura emphasized that this partnership shall strengthen the eco-system of institutes of Punjab like Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Polytechnics of Punjab by setting emulative standards for skill education in Punjab. Both the institutions will facilitate the creation of content and resources aligned to qualification in association with other stakeholders from the skilling eco-system. This collaboration will grow skills education and training and will enhance the performance level of students to gain suitable overseas employment apart from the domestic employment opportunities

Bruce Poh ITEES speaking on the occasion added that ITEES Singapore is wholly owned subsidiary of the Institute of Technical Education in Singapore established with the objectives of sharing the experience and expertise in skills education and training with the international community for past 57 years. He added that ITEES helps organizations in the world to develop SET capabilities in a fast changing global economy.

He further said that ITEES Singapore is committed to work closely with LTSU to enhance the employability skills of the youth of Punjab and he highlighted that LTSU became the first Skill University in India to signup MoU with them. Both the institutes mutually agreed to develop and implement specific projects in the areas like transformation of the TVET ecosystem in Punjab by covering the network of both public and private 250 Industrial Training Institutes and 115 Polytechnics by establishing the centres for skill training to 1.5 lac students studying in these technical institutes of Punjab.

The focus would be to provide situational and training need analysis, Infrastructure development,   Leadership Development, Staff Capability Development, Student Assessment (leading to ITEES Skill Qualification (ISQ) certification, Quality Assurance leading to ITEES Global Excellence Model for skills Education and Training (GEMSET)certification and other areas, provide manpower training and placement for the global labour market like in healthcare sectorfor Nurses, accreditation for overseas employment in countries like Singapore, Germany, United Kingdom, Canada and Japan etc.
