In a late night action, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has appealed the farmers, people of Punjab to reach at the Khanauri border at the earliest.
In a live message, Dallewal shared his apprehensions that Punjab Police is planning to come at Khanauri border in large number to pick him up as the state government is acting on supreme courts, centre government’s direction.
Dallewal urged people to turn up in ‘large numbers’ at Khanauri and claimed that their protest has reached a ‘decisive stage’.
He said in his live video that “we are protesting in a peaceful way just like Gandhi (Mahatama Gandhi) did during his Satyagraha. Even the Britishers listened to the demands of Satyagrahi, met their demands. But on the contrast our own present government is not ready to listen to our demands and rather the government is crushing our peaceful protest.”
Dallewal, whose protest entered its 34th day on Sunday, has been insisting that the Centre initiate a dialogue with the protesting farmers over their demands, including a legally guaranteed minimum support price (MSP).
Protesting farmer leaders at the Khanauri border said on Sunday that it is up to the Centre to decide whether to use force to evict their leader, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, whose health has been deteriorating due to his indefinite hunger strike.
Earlier in the day, speaking to reporters at the Khanauri border protest site, farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar said, “We want to make it clear that the Centre, right from day one, has been trying to defame and suppress our agitation.”
He also alleged that a narrative of farmers being “stubborn” is being built and instead accused the Centre of adopting such an attitude by “not paying attention to farmers’ demands”.
“We are continuing our agitation by adopting Gandhian principles. Our agitations have proven that, despite enduring so much due to the government’s oppression, we have continued to protest in a Gandhian manner,” he said.

SKM (Non-political) leader Kaka Singh Kotra said the government can try to evict Dallewal from the current protest site and their unions are appealing to Punjabis to reach Khanauri in maximum numbers.
He also said Dallewal has made it clear that he is ready to sacrifice his life for the sake of farmers in this country.
On the other hand, the Supreme Court on Saturday came down heavily on the Punjab government for not shifting farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been fasting for over a month, to a hospital even as it doubted the intention of the agitating farmers for resisting availability of medical aid to their septuagenarian leader.
