Licenses of two medical stores in Rupnagar district suspended for selling banned drugs

As part of the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign launched by the Punjab government, the licenses of two medical stores have been suspended in Rupnagar district to implement the action taken by the Drugs Department Punjab.
Giving information in this regard, Drugs Control Officer Harpreet Kaur said that these suspended medical stores include Abhay Medical Store of Ropar city and Guru Kirpa Medical Store of Sri Anandpur Sahib.
He said that this action has been taken in violation of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the permission of the medicines found has also been cancelled.
Drugs Wing of the Health Department has instructed all the chemists of the district that if any chemist is found illegally buying or selling any banned medicines, strict action will be taken against him under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
Harpreet Kaur, Drugs Control Officer Rupnagar, said that so far, about 65 medical stores have been checked by the Drug Wing in coordination with the Police Department in the district and this campaign will be continued in the future as per the guidelines of the Punjab Government.
