Ludhiana 30kg gold robbery case: OCCU team recovered 10 kg gold

Organized Crime Control Unit of Punjab Police have recovered 10 kg gold in the Ludhiana 30 kg gold robbery case. The recovery was made from the accused, gangster, Amritpal Singh, who is currently on six days police remand with OCCU team.  Besides, OCCU also recovered one pistol and two rifles from the accused, Amritpal. He is also brother of gangster, Jaipal Bhullar.

OCCU, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh said that the robbed gold was recovered from one of the Amritpal’s hideout in Mohali. Amritpal was arrested by the OCCU team on Tuesday. He is one of the five members who committed this crime. “Three accused has been arrested so far in the case within five days after the first breakthrough with arrest of gangster Gagandeep Judge by OCCU. The remaining gold and other accused, gangster Jaipal and Gursewak Singh will be arrested very soon”, added IGP, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh.

A team of OCCU on last Thursday nabbed inter-state gangster, Gagandeep Singh @ Gagan Judge in Chandigarh and got major breakthrough in the Gold robbery case. OCCU recovered around Rs. 31 lakh apart from one pistol, two magazines and 50 live cartridges from the possession of Gagan Judge. Judge and his gang members are involved in the more than two dozen crimes of contract killing and other heinous crime case.

At present, Judge is in police custody with the OCCU team.  Following his intensive questioning by OCCU, two more accused, Pardeep Singh of village, Gardiwala (Hoshiarpur), and Harpreet Singh, village Peer Mohammad (Ferozepur) district were arrested on Sunday.  Pardeep was actively involved in the gold robbery at Ludhiana while Harpreet was harboring the accused as all the culprits stayed at his house for one week before committing the crime and also one night after the crime. Later, Two accused,  Pardeep and Harpreet have been duly handed over as per procedure to Ludhiana city police for further investigation by the OCCU investigation Team.

Punjab Director General of Police, Dinkar Gupta praised the efforts of the OCCU team for the extra-ordinary work in the case said that Punjab police have committed to maintain the law and order in the state and also to provide peace and safe environment for the people of Punjab. “Exemplary work done by OCCU team in the case has broken the backbone of the gang and remaining accused by the arrested soon”, added DGP, Dinkar Gupta.
