Maiden Military Literature Festival in Patiala -CM Bhagwant Mann releases the brochure,schedule of the MLF

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann released the brochure and poster of the first Military Literature Festival to be held at Khalsa College on January 28-29 in Patiala. On the occasion of his visit to Patiala yesterday, while releasing the poster of the Patiala Military Literature Festival at Circuit House, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that, “Punjab Government has expanded the scope of Military Literature Festival (MLF) across the state at district and university level and the Patiala district administration has taken a commendable initiative by organizing this festival on January 28-29 in collaboration with the Military Literature Festival Association.
The Chief Minister appreciated Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Chetinder Singh, AVSM, SM, VSM, (Retd) Lt Gen (Dr.) Jagbir Singh Cheema, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, (Retd) and Lt Col PS Grewal of the Military Literature Festival Association, for holding this mega event in Patiala also.

Cabinet Minister Dr Balbir Singh and Chetan Singh Jouramajra, MLAs Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Neena Mittal and Guralal Ghanour along with District Planning Committee Chairman Jassi Sohianwala were also specially present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister said that the state government will hold this festival at district and university level to apprise the youth about the rich legacy of our Armed Forces, and rekindle the motivating spirit for joining the Army in them. Bhagwant Mann said that this is the need of hour to imbibe a feeling of nationalism and patriotism amongst youth thereby inspiring them to join the Armed forces.
Deputy Commander Sakshi Sawhney further said that the Military Literature Festival is going to start at 10:00 am on January 28 and conclude on January 29 .
“Military Literature Festival Association has decided to organize various events including Panel Discussions, Clarion Call episodes of bravery, martial dances, equipment display by the army, wreath laying & Bravehearts motorcycle ride, archery demonstration cum competition, Army, ITBP and Police Recruitment Counselling corner are also being established. Moreover, the visitor will also experience the best food from the famous eateries of Patiala “ added Sawhney.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that the top military war heroes, thinkers, authors, historians, curators and defence experts participate in this educative event which is uniquely crafted to be presented not only to the public, but also the school children from rural areas who are treated as special invitees for the festival, so that the baton and legacy of the bravery and martial traditions are passed directly onto them.
Sakshi Sawhney further informed that on January 27 a children’s story program and an exhibition ‘Artistry’ showcasing Patiala city’s artworks including ‘Tanke Tope’ Phulkari workshop for teaching embroidery and a discussion on the published book on Patiala by Young Historian Simar Singh is going to be held at the Musafir Memorial Central State Library, Patiala, in collaboration with Pahal Patiala. Similarly on January 30, a Kavi Darbar will also be held at the Language department.
Sakshi Sawhney has extended a warm invitation to all the Patialvis to take part in the Military Literature Festival being organized as part of the Patiala heritage festival and entry will be free for all to take a look at the history of the historic city.
