On January 20,2023, royalpatiala.in News portal did a story on how the forest department, district administration, Patiala are failed to check the display of illegal advertisements of political workers, others on the trees, defying NGT orders.

Acting swiftly, the department in less than 24 hours came into action mode and has start removing the illegal hoardings installed on tress in the city.

On this local resident Rajesh Kumar Verma said “it’s a good step taken by the forest department, district administration to remove the illegal hoardings from the trees. The real test starts now for the forest department and the district administration as to how long they are able to maintain their this stand against the violators. Removing hoardings, advertisement is just a small part of this whole exercise. They must issue challans, notices to the violators to set a trend. There are a handful of vendors who are doing this outdoor advertising business, printing flexes. The department must issue strict instructions to them to not to do this in future and rather help them in preserving the environment.”
