Major twist in Punjab politics just before 2 weeks; now equations may change

In a major twist going to happen, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram-Rahim, who is serving a sentence in the rape and murder case, will be released from jail on parole. Gurmeet is lodged in Rohtak jail in Haryana. Dera Sacha Sauda is located in Sirsa district of Haryana. It has an effect on about 69 seats in Malwa region of Punjab.
He was taken out of Rohtak’s Sunaria jail this morning itself. During the parole, a strict condition was placed that he would be under the supervision of the police for 21 days.He has been released from jail thrice before on various grounds, including for getting a medical checkup and to meet his mother.
“It’s an open furlough and he can go anywhere in Haryana state. Their is no restrictions on his movement with in Haryana” said Haryana jail minister. As per expectations, he can go Gurugram (Gurgaon) with his family members, after his release from the Sonaria jail.
This came as a surprise as the same Haryana government had denied parole permission to him on many occasions. But giving him three weeks parole came as a surprise for all political parties.
