Malerkotla police arrests 41 ‘wanted’ accused early morning

Continuing its tradition of early morning raids to nab wanted criminals, the Malerkotla Police today conducted searches across over 100 locations in the district and arrested 41 accused who were evading arrest.
The extensive raids were carried out from the early hours of the morning by teams led by DSPs and SHOs across all police sub-divisions in the district.
Giving details of the operation, Senior Superintendent of Police, Malerkotla,Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said, “In our ongoing effort to make Malerkotla a crime-free district, we have arrested 41 wanted accused persons today who were named in 56 different cases.”
Of the 41 arrested:15 were already wanted by the police with pending warrants, 9 were currently in jail serving sentences, 1 accused had died earlier and 16 persons had their FIRs quashed and they have now joined investigations
“Our teams raided over 100 locations starting as early as 4 AM today. The accused arrested today were wanted for crimes like theft, robbery, assault, drug peddling, fraud and even murder,” the SSP Khakh further stated.

The early morning raids have been an effective strategy implemented by Malerkotla Police to catch wanted criminals off-guard in their hideouts. The Malerkotla police have vowed to continue such raids in the future as part of their efforts to control crime rate in the region.
