In a decisive move to combat crime and strengthen law and order, the newly appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Malerkotla, Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh, held his first introductory meeting with the media today. During the meeting, SSP Khakh underscored the importance of cooperation between the police, the press, and the public in eradicating drugs and maintaining peace in the district.

Acknowledging the district’s shortage of police personnel, SSP Khakh pledged to address this issue in due course. “We are working closely with the authorities to ensure that we have the necessary manpower to effectively serve the community,” he stated.

Upholding the highest standards of integrity, SSP Khakh emphasised the department’s dedication to providing better services to residents and weeding out corruption and inaction at the grassroots level. “We are committed to fostering a culture of honesty, transparency, and accountability within the police force,” he asserted.

Recognising the importance of public trust, SSP Khakh highlighted the need for honesty, humbleness, and honour among police personnel. “We strive to win the confidence and hearts of the public by treating everyone with respect and dignity,” he affirmed.

Underscoring the importance of protecting vulnerable groups, SSP Khakh assured that women, children, and the elderly would receive special attention from the police force. “We will ensure that these vulnerable groups are not harassed or ignored during their visits to police offices, and we will take strict action against criminals like drug peddler, eve teasers, and others,” he declared.
