Mata Gujri College celebrated Sikh Environment Day

Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib organised a special program to pay tribute to the Seventh Guru, Sri Guru Har Rai Ji for the environmental vision he established in his lifetime.

On this occasion, Dr. Kuldip Singh Dhir, former Dean Academics, Punjabi University, Patiala was the keynote speaker.

Addressing the students, he said, “This day remarks the Gurgaddi Diwas of Guru Har Rai Ji, who is remembered in Sikh history for his deep sensitivity to nature and its preservation.” He motivated the students to preserve their environment.

In his presidential address, Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh said, “It is moral, social and religious duty of every individual to protect our environment. Students should indulge themselves in social activities and serve the humanity wholeheartedly.”

Dr. Jagjeewan Singh, Punjabi Department, Mata Gujri College enlightened the students with historical and religious aspects of this auspicious day. On this occasion Prof. Anupreet Singh Tiwana, Dr. Gurbaj Singh, staff members and students were present.
