Mata Gujri College Psychology Department Organises Lecture

Mata Gujri College,Department of Psychology organized Guest Lecture on theme “Counselling of Children in the need of care and Protection.”  On this occasion, chief guest of the event was Mrs. Neha Singla, Child Protection Officer, Fatehgarh Sahib. She focused on what are the main issues or problems faced by the children till 18 years of age such as child labor, begging, child abuse, child abandonment. She highlighted the role of counselor in dealing with these issues.

It was an interactive session and students shared their views and experiences about this issue. She further informed students about what procedure they can follow to seek out help for children in need and how to counsel these children. Then she told students that they can work as a volunteer with their department to ensure betterment of children and society as a whole.

On this occasion, Director Principal of the college Dr. Jatinder Singh Sidhu admired the psychology department for this step and said “Such lectures help students to improve themselves and aware them about the adult problems.”

On this occasion, Vice-Principal of the College, Prof. Sohan Singh Sekhon welcomed chief guest and assured her that students of the college will stay in touch with her so that they can attain practical knowledge along with bookish knowledge .On this occasion, head of the department Dr. Hardeep Kaur, Prof. Gurdeep Kaur, councilor Kanika Sharma and students were present.
