Mission Life program organised at Punjab Institute of Technology, Nandgarh…

Punjab Institute of Technology (PIT), Nandgarh under Environment Education Program (EEP) Mission LIFE organised SIRJANA ‘A creation of Sustainable Environment’ a joint initiative of Punjab State Council for Science & Technology, Chandigarh and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda.

The programme began with an awareness campaign on sustainable environment, under which a rally was held by students and faculty which was flagged off from the PIT and passed through village Nandgarh. The students actively participated in the poster making, model making and Best out of Waste competitions. Prof. R. K Bansal, Director, PIT Nandgarh motivated the participants.

The Chief Guest for the day Advocate Navdeep Jeeda, Chairman, Sugarfed, Punjab, discussed his views and shared the ideas to save and protect the environment. Following which, an expert lecture was delivered by Dr. Meenu, Assistant Professor(Chemistry), MRSPTU, Bathinda on ‘Single Use of Plastic’ to create awareness among students about harmful effect of plastic on environment.

On this occasion, the first ever, half yearly Newsletter of PIT Nandgarh, PITN-NEWS & VIEWS was also released. The winners and participants of rally were awarded with certificates.
