MLA residence raided by Punjab vigilance bureau

In a surprise move today morning Punjab Vigilance Department officials reached the residence of MLA Majitha Ganieve Kaur Majithia and general secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal Bikram Singh Majithia in Amritsar.
MLA Majitha Ganieve Kaur Majithia and SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia alleged that the vigilance team forcefully barged into their house in Amritsar.
MLA Majitha,Ganieve Kaur Majithia said that around 30 police / vigilance personnels tresspassed in their Green Avenue residence in Amritsar.
The reason for the raid has yet to be officially confirmed. The search operation is currently underway. Vigilance has not issued any official statement regarding the matter in which the raid was conducted.
In a video posted by MLA Majitha Ganieve Kaur where she was seen sharing the information of trespassing of vigilance bureau officials in their Amritsar residence. Her husband Bikram Singh Majithia also shared a video on his on social media where he was seen arguing with the officials accusing them of trespassing them in his house.
This action is likely a part of an ongoing investigation into his alleged involvement of SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia in a major drug trafficking network.
As per available information “simultaneous raids were carried out at 25 properties of Bikram Singh Majithia across Punjab. Nine of the properties are in Amritsar district”.
“A first information report has been registered, and a formal statement will be issued shortly,” the official said in Chandigarh.
Ganieve Kaur Majithia is a sister-in-law of SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal and Lok Sabha MP from Bathinda Harsimrat Kaur Badal
