Modern School showcases regional Yoga talent in inter-school competition

Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala, hosted an “Inter-school Yoga Competition” on 23 August, 2024, bringing together young talents from the region. The event featured top schools of the city with their mixed teams of two (boys and/or girls) competing in the Under-10 and Under-14 categories.

In the team event, Auro Mirra Centre of Education, Patiala lifted the “Running Trophies” in both Under-10 and Under-14 categories. The hosts Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala won the second prize in the Under-14 category.

At the individual level, Auro Mirra Centre Of Education sweeped away the prizes with Tanveer Kaur and Diksha clinching the first and second prize respectively in the Under-10 category, and Hargun of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Public School, Patiala secured third place.

In the Under-14 category, Vinita and Manseerat of Auro Mirra Centre of Education claimed first and second place respectively, followed by Vanshika and Gursnehal of Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala jointly securing the third place.

The judges, Ravinder Kumar, a YCB Level 3 certified yoga instructor with a Master’s in Yoga, and Pardeep Singh, a national-level gold medalist in Yoga and M.Sc (Yoga) candidate, evaluated participants based on the accuracy of asanas, flexibility and balance, overall presentation and grace, and creativity and sequence flow.
