Club Politics: rival fronts bury differences, join hands for the sake of RGMC’s reputation

Today, members of rival groups of the region’s oldest Rajindra Gymkhana and Mahindra Club (RGMC) have decided to join hands for the sake of reputation of the club.
Today, in a joint press conference by members of Progressive Group and Goodwill Group of Rajindra Gymkhana and Mahindra Club (RGMC) has informed the media that now onwards both the groups will merge and now onwards there will be only one group all members group, means we all members of the club will jointly work for the betterment of the club.
While addressing the media , the members of the core committee Dr Sudhir Verma, Dr Manmohan Singh, president Dr Sukhdeep Singh Boparai, hony secretary Harpreet Singh Sandhu and other members added that “in past during club elections, members of both the party indulge in mud slugging against each others, which had brought bad names to the respected members, prestigious club. Now, the members of both the groups have decided to bury our differences and join hands. Moreover, the club will hold its annual election on September 28,2024. But, we have decided to elect our next year 12 members executive team, unanimously. We will decide jointly about the 12 executive team members comprising president, vice president, hony secretary, treasure, joint secretary and seven executive members.”
Incumbent club hony secretary Harpreet Singh Sandhu said “ the process for the election will begin 21 days before the voting date. If anyone files paper for any post, the election will be held on September 28,2024.”
A senior member of the club Vinay Vatrana said “it’s a welcome step for the betterment of the club. Now, members will hope the new executive will raise the standard, reputation on the club.”
Club Politics: rival fronts bury differences, join hands for the sake of RGMC’s reputation . Earlier, during past elections, members of both the groups had leveled serious allegations including financial bungling against the executive members of the club.
As per available information, both the groups have decided to jointly elect their members for the post of club executive team. One group will hold the post of president, treasure, joint secretary and two executive members whereas the other group will hold the post of vice president, hony secretary and five executive members.”
