Moga police seize 3k tablets of banned medicines, 26 motorcycles

Moga Police claimed to have seized more than 3,000 banned medicines and arrested four persons who were in possession of the drugs in the district.
“We have recovered 2000 tablets and 990 tablets of banned drugs along with 22 and 4 motorcycles of different makes from possession of these persons,” said Moga superintendent of police (investigation) Wazir Singh.
The seizure comes in the wake of the Senior Superintendent of Police Moga Gulneet Singh Khurana IPS crackdown on the drug menace in the district.
The accused were identified as Harjinder Singh alias Honey, Dharminder Singh, Boota Singh and Harjiwan.
During routine checking, a team of police led by Inspector Gurpreet Singh, SHO city police station Moga spotted two persons standing near Akalsar chowk here. During search, tablets of 2000 banned drugs were recovered from their possession and the duo was arrested. During further interrogation the police succeeded in recovering 22 motorcycles.
In another checking CIA Sub Inspector Baljit Singh led team arrested persons carrying 990 tablets of banned drugs and the duo was arrested. During further interrogation the police succeeded in recovering 4 motorcycles snatched by them.
They have been booked under relevant sections and investigation is underway, he said.
