Member of Parliament from Chandigarh and former Union Minister Manish Tewari strengthened local infrastructure by inaugurating newly installed lights in various parks of Sector 20. These lights have been installed using funds from his MPLAD funds. Former Deputy Mayor Taruna Mehta was also specially present on the occasion.

Notably, under this project, modern lighting has been installed in around 12 parks at a cost of Rs 13 lakh. With the installation of these lights, dark spots in the area have been completely eliminated. This has improved security and made it more convenient for local residents to take morning and evening walks and engage in other activities.

A large number of residents attended the event and warmly welcomed the MP and former Deputy Mayor. People appreciated the initiative, calling it highly important for the area. Additionally, residents raised several key issues, including the need for renovation of government houses, the deteriorating condition of long-vacant houses, and unnecessary electricity bills despite the presence of solar lights.

MP Manish Tewari listened to all concerns seriously and assured that these issues would be resolved soon in coordination with the concerned departments. He stated that overall development of the city is his priority and that there will be no shortage of funds for such initiatives. He added that the Congress Party believes in development-oriented politics.
