Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, in collaboration with the Indian Air Force (IAF), proudly hosted the DISHA Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle (IPEV) Drive – XVI on Wednesday.
The event, conducted under the aegis of the DISHA Cell, Air Headquarters, aimed to create awareness about career opportunities in the IAF and inspire students to pursue a life of honour, discipline, and national service.
A team of esteemed IAF officers from DISHA Cell, Air Headquarters, and Air Force Station Bhisiana visited the university campus and interacted with students from various departments. They provided in-depth guidance on career prospects in the IAF and shared valuable information about the selection processes and service branches.
The programme began with a warm welcome extended by Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, Registrar, and Er. Harjot Singh Sidhu, Director, Training and Placement. The university officials paid rich tributes to the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces.
Dr. Brar, in his address, emphasized the pivotal role of the Indian Air Force in ensuring national security and highlighted the importance of building a strong military presence to achieve the vision of a Viksit Bharat. He encouraged students to consider a career in the defence services as a noble pursuit that combines honour, responsibility, and patriotism.
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Aggarwal, Campus Director, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing sincere appreciation to the IAF team for bringing this motivational initiative to the university.
The major attraction of the event was the Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle (IPEV)—a technologically advanced mobile exhibition unit featuring a flight simulator, Glasstron headset, interactive touch screens, virtual reality gear, miniature aircraft models, G-suits, and LED display systems. The exhibition offered students a hands-on and immersive experience, giving them a glimpse into the technologies used by the Indian Air Force.
The students showed enthusiastic participation, lining up to try the flight simulator, explore the exhibits, and interact with IAF personnel. They gained insights into various entry routes into the IAF, including the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT), and learned about career options in the Flying, Ground Duty (Technical), and Ground Duty (Non-Technical) branches.
Prof.(Dr.) Rajesh Gupta, Incharge CRC, Harjinder Singh Sidhu, Director, Public Relations, and Dr. Vivek Kondal, NCC In-charge, were also present to support and coordinate the event. University officials lauded the Indian Air Force’s efforts to foster a sense of patriotism, discipline, and national pride among the youth.
The IPEV Drive – XVI was flagged off from Vijay Chowk, New Delhi, on July 28, 2025, and is set to cover multiple educational institutions across Punjab in the coming days as part of its mission to inspire the next generation of Air Warriors.
