MRSPTU organised national level HR conclave

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda’s University Business School (UBS) and Consultancy and Industry Linkage Cell jointly organised National Level HR conclave at the conference hall of the University.

The central theme of the conclave was “HR challenges in volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) business World. The objective of the conclave was to offer a forum for the industry and academia to come together and share the latest knowledge and practices in the field of business.

The HR conclave was held in three sessions namely Bridging Gap between Academia and Industry, HR Challenges for Startups and HR Challenges for creating work culture in new age business.

The occasion has witnessed the presence the of chief guest Amit Sharma, Resident Editor,  Dainik Jagran along with Guest of Honour H.S. Cheema, Managing Director, Cheema Boilers and  Vijay Roy, Special Correspondent, The Tribune and other dignitaries from various multinational companies who shared their valuable thoughts and enlightened the audiences with challenges faced by HR department of corporate houses in currently dynamic rapidly changing business scenario.

 

The conclave started with the speech of Dr. Ashish Baldi, Registrar MRSPTU, followed by Chief Guest Amit Sharma who threw the light on VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) and shared his personal experience with all.

The panel Discussions was held by the HR professionals, Chief Executive officers and Senior Managers of Oracle, Wipro, Edusaksham, Cheema Boilers, Bajaj Engineering, SportsKing, Bafflesol, Tafe Motors, G9 recruiters and British Council. The discussed that need of an hour in the industry is not fresher, it is trained freshers.

They highlighted on the requirement of industry and lack of skill gap, positive attitude, and passion to learn in today’s young generation. Majority of the speakers insisted on the individual characteristics and confirmations of problems of corporate that must be tackled in current VUCA world. They emphasized that the minor complaints, warning signs and minute details must not be missed to create a healthy work culture in the companies.

Apart from this, to cope with the HR challenges skill development should be the main focus and happiness among the employees needed to be the main criteria to retain the creative, talented manpower in the companies. The discussion concluded on the note that the employees should run after career and Excellency not for job and money. The money follows Excellency. The employer should consider the employees problem so that they become satisfied and devoted towards the firm.

Dr. Ashish Baldi, Dr. Manjeet Bansal and Dr. Pritpal Singh Bhullar facilitated the invited speakers and emphasize on strengthening the bonds between university and industry to transform the student into skilled manpower as per the current requirement of industry.
