The campus of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, came alive with music, colors, and laughter as the School of Agricultural Sciences and Engineering (SASE) hosted its much-awaited “Ji Aaiyan Nu Freshers’ 2025” celebration to warmly welcome the new batches of B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering, B.Voc. Agriculture, M.Sc. Agronomy, and M.Sc. Horticulture (Batch 2025).

The evening sparkled with youthful enthusiasm as students showcased their talents through songs, dances, and cultural performances — marking a joyous beginning to the new academic year.

Adding glamour to the night, Balkaran Singh and Navdeep Kaur (both from B.Voc Agriculture) were crowned Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher, charming everyone with their confidence and charisma. In B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, Aditya Goyal and Harmandeep Kaur won the coveted Mr. and Ms. Fresher titles, while in M.Sc. Agriculture, Balwinder Singh and Mandeep Kaur earned the same honors for their elegance and enthusiasm.

The celebration began with a heartfelt welcome by seniors and faculty members, setting a warm and inclusive tone for the event. The stage came alive with colorful portrayals of the vibrant cultures of Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Energetic dance numbers, soulful songs, and creative shayari performances captivated the audience and filled the evening with infectious energy.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, MRSPTU, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar, Registrar, MRSPTU, as the Guest of Honour.

In their inspiring addresses, they encouraged the students to uphold values of innovation, dedication, and excellence in the field of agricultural sciences.

Dr. Jasvir Singh Tiwana, Head of Department, extended a warm welcome to all, emphasizing the importance of hard work, teamwork, and professional ethics in building successful careers. Senior faculty members Dr. Kanwaljit Singh, Dr. Vineet Chawla, and Er. Rajinder Singh Smagh played key roles in organizing and coordinating the event. Faculty and staff dressed in traditional Kurta-Pyjama attire added cultural charm to the celebration.

The occasion was further graced by distinguished faculty and university officials including Dr. Rajesh Gupta (Professor In-Charge, Corporate Resource Center), Harjinder Singh Sidhu (Director, Public Relations), Er. Harjot Singh Sidhu (Director, Training & Placement), and Er. Vivek Kaundal (NCC In-Charge and Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering).

In addition to the main titles, Gurpreet Singh and Amanat Kaur were declared Mr. Talented and Ms. Talented, impressing the audience with their remarkable performances.

As the evening drew to a close, the dance floor lit up with students grooving to energetic DJ beats, ending the night on a high note of joy, friendship, and celebration.

The success of “Ji Aaiyan Nu Freshers’ 2025” was credited to the dedication of the organizing committee and volunteers including Dr. Jaspal Singh Gill, Dr. Lakshya, Dr. Lokesh Tarar, Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur, Dr. Palak, Dr. Ruksana, Kiranpreet Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur, Simranpreet Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur Gill,  Komalpuneet Kaur, Adit Singla, Raghveer Singh, Samarpreet Singh, Amandeep Singh, and  Sobha Singh. Their collective efforts transformed the evening into a memorable celebration of unity, creativity, and new beginnings.
