MS Govt Rajindra Hospital relinquishes charge of hot seat for relaxation

Dr Girish Sahni, medical superintendent (MS) of Govt Rajindra Hospital, Patiala has requested the state government to relive him from the above mentioned charge.

Dr Sahni has forwarded his request to the Principal Govt Medical College, Patiala Dr Rajan Singla and Dr Singla forwarded the same to DRME, Punjab.

Confirming the same, Dr Girish Sahni said “yes, I had written a request letter to higher authorities to relieve me from the MS charge as I want a break from my hectic schedule and some time to relax.”

Dr Rajan Singla said “ I had forwarded the request letter to the DRME and now its upto the health department officials, health minister to take decision on his request. Dr Girish is coming and doing the work of MS as the decision is pending on his relieving request.

As per sources, Dr Girish Sahni was under severe pressure failing to manage regular power outages, water logging and other issues that had brought bad name for the state government.

On July 7,2024 Punjab govt had appointed Dr Girish Sahni, Professor of Orthopedics department as the Medical Superintendent of Govt Rajindra Hospital.

The health department authorities had contacted many senior doctors to accept the post of MS, but most of them had refused to sit on a hot seat of medical superintendent and finally Dr Girish Sahni accepted the challenge and taken the reins of Govt Rajindra Hospital as medical superintendent (MS).
