Nabha Power wins Best Thermal Power Generator Award from IPPAI

Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI) has once again awarded Nabha Power Limited (NPL) as the “Winner” under the “Best Thermal Power Generator – Commissioned after 2010” category.  Suresh Kumar Narang, Chief Executive, Nabha Power Limited (NPL) received this award at the Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI) Power Awards Ceremony held during the 22nd Regulators & Policy makers Retreat 2022 (RPR), held at Belgaum, Karnataka on 9th April 2022. Previously, Nabha Power Limited (NPL) was conferred with this prestigious award in the years 2017, 2018 and 2019.

This award was presented on account of NPL’s continued excellence in its Rajpura thermal power plant operations, achieving one of the best station heat rates and auxiliary power consumption in the country.

Nabha Power has repeatedly been recognised as one of the best power plants in the country for its reliability & efficiency. Nabha Power Limited (NPL), Rajpura has been consistent in its performance with almost 100% PAF & PLF during the peak paddy season and contributed more than 40% of the thermal power produced within Punjab during FY 22. NPL continues to focus on best-in-class O&M practices to ensure efficient and reliable operations.”

Nabha Power Limited (NPL) is also involved in various social development projects in around 49 villages of Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib districts located around the plant through its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Nabha Power Limited (NPL) , a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T, operates a 2×700 MW coal based supercritical thermal power plant at Rajpura, Punjab. NPL’s 100% capacity is tied to the state of Punjab. The Plant was commissioned in February 2014 and has received several International & National awards. The plant operates at the highest Plant Load factor (PLF) in Punjab and provides the cheapest power amongst all the TPPs in the state.
