Gen. Dyer’s anger against the people of Amritsar, who according to him had disobeyed his prohibitory orders, did not end there. He humiliated the citizens of Amritsar by ordering crawling orders, whereby everyone passing the street where Ms. Sherwood was assaulted had to crawl on its four.
