NEET PG : -40 out of 800 marks for SC/ST/OBC students; NBEMS reduces cut-off for all ahead of third counseling

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the revised cut-off percentage National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) exam.

The result of NEET-PG 2025 was declared on 19th August 2025. In accordance with the directions of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India vide letter No. U-12021/11/2025-MEC (FTS- 8363852) dated 09.01.2026, the minimum qualifying percentile cut-off for counseling of the third round of NEET-PG 2025-26 for various categories of candidates has been reduced as five months after the results of NEET-PG were announced. With more than 18,000 post graduate medical seats remain vacant, forcing the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences to lower the qualifying norms further and allowing a section of students with negative cut-off scores to become eligible.

As per the new revised list the NEET PG 2025 the REVISED cut off score for General / EWS is  103 out of 800 after Minimum Qualifying Criteria (as per MoHFW letter No. U-12021/11/2025-MEC (FTS- 8363852) Dated :09.01.2026 is 7th percentile.

Similarly the new revised list the NEET PG 2025 the REVISED cut off score for General / PwBD is  90 out of 800 after Minimum Qualifying Criteria (as per MoHFW letter No. U-12021/11/2025-MEC (FTS- 8363852) Dated :09.01.2026 is 5th percentile.

For SC/ST/OBC (Including PwBD of SC/ST/OBC the new revised list the NEET PG 2025 the REVISED cut off score for them is  -40  out of 800 after Minimum Qualifying Criteria (as per MoHFW letter No. U-12021/11/2025-MEC (FTS- 8363852) Dated :09.01.2026 is 0th percentile.

NBEMS authorities added that “It may be noted that there is no change in the NEET-PG 2025 rank as published vide NBEMS result notification dated 19.08.2025.”

NBEMS has conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) exam on August 3, 2025.

NBEMS conducted NEET PG 2025 in a computer-based mode, in a single shift, across 301 cities and 1,052 test centres. Over 2.42 lakh candidates appeared for the postgraduate medical entrance exam.
