Former Haryana DGP appointed DG of prestigious paramilitary force; ITBP, BSF gets new DG

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for Appointment of Praveen Kumar, IPS(WB:1993), presently working as DG, ITBP to the post of Director General, Border Security Force (BSF) from the date of assumption of charge of the post and upto 30.09.2030 i.e. the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Similarly, Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor, IPS(HY: 1990), presently working in cadre, to the post of Director General, Inda-Tibetan Border Police from the date of assumption of charge of the post and upto 31-10-2026 i.e. the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Two months after being sent on leave amid a controversy over IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar’s death, the Haryana government had relieved IPS Shatrujeet Kapur from the charge of Director General of Police in December 2025. After that he opted for central deputation and after a month, today Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor, IPS is appointed as new DG of ITBP.
