NIELIT Ropar Organises “Job Fair 2026” to Provide Employment Opportunities to Youth

Bahadurjeet Singh/royalpatiala.in News/ Rupnagar,March 13,2026                      The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (Deemed to be University) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, successfully organised “Job Fair 2026” at its campus in Ropar on 13th March 2026.

The event aimed at providing employment opportunities to the youth of Punjab by bringing together reputed companies and aspiring job seekers on a common platform.

The Job Fair was inaugurated by  Deepak Wasan, Executive Director, NIELIT Ropar. The event was also honored by  Prabhjot Singh, District Employment Generation & Training Officer (DEGTO), Meenakshi Bedi, Placement Officer, Ropar and  Sandeep Kumar, Sub-Regional Employment Officer, DGE, Jalandhar.

While addressing the gathering, Wasan highlighted the purpose of organising the Mega Job Fair and emphasized that such initiatives provide an excellent opportunity for the youth of Punjab to connect with industry and secure suitable employment.

Several companies from different sectors participated in the Job Fair and interacted with job seekers for various available positions. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, fresh graduates and job seekers who submitted their resumes and interacted directly with company representatives.

More than 23 companies participated in the event and conducted interviews of  around 500 candidates from various technical and professional backgrounds. During the fair, several candidates received valuable career guidance and employment opportunities. Notably, more than 300 candidates were offered on-the-spot appointment offers/shorlisted, making the event highly successful in facilitating employment opportunities for the youth.
The initiative reflects NIELIT’s continued commitment towards skill development, employability enhancement and supporting the Government’s vision of promoting employment opportunities for youth. The Job Fair proved to be a significant step in strengthening the link between skilled candidates and industry requirements.
