NITTTR Chandigarh Celebrated its 55th Annual Day

National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh, an autonomous institute of Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, established in the year 1967 celebrated its 55th Annual Day on September 7, 2022.
On this auspicious occasion, Vijay Sampla, Chairman, National Commission for SC, Govt. of India while delivering the Presidential Address congratulated and appreciated the contribution of the NITTTR, Chandigarh to the upliftment of the society with its interventions.He also urged the need and importance of the socio-economic development in addition to the technical development. Further, he stressed upon the award of university status to NITTTR, Chandigarh considering its contribution.
Chief Guest – Prof. Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary, AICTE, New Delhi in his address propounded that a lot has been talked about New Education Policy and in fact it is now the time to implement it. Dr. Kumar further emphasized on skill based education in the institutions on the footprints of the institutes like NITTTR, Chandigarh as simply having a degree will not work without possessing of the skill.
Guest of Honour – Prof. N.P. Padhy, Director, MNIT Jaipur an eminent academician said that the NITTTR, Chandigarh has the immense potential to become the university of excellence, and the way of imparting training to teachers of technical institutions is praise worthy.
Professor S.S. Pattnaik, Director NITTTR Chandigarh while presenting the Annual Report for the year 2021-22 highlighted that the institute hasbeen awarded by the Letter of Appreciation from Ministry of Finance; all the 4 PG Programmes NBA Accredited; SCOPUS H-index43 has been achieved; 9 Ph.D. defended, 70 SCI Papers published; 181 Digital Learning Material developed; 162 Number of Video Films produced; and 6.55 Crores IRG through consultancy.Professor Pattnaik dedicated the achievement to the sincerity, team work and commitment of its faculty staff and students.
During the Annual function, the Institute awarded the best performing employees, meritorious students, best performing Polytechnics and Engineering Colleges of the northern region.
Also, a brainstorming workshop “Manthan on effective implementation of NEP-2020” with a focus on implementing Academic Bank of Credits referred to as ABC credit framework to help students embrace a multi-disciplinary educational approach was participated by nearly more than 80 DTEs, Principals, and Jt. Directors of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand and HODs, Deans and faculty of NITTTR Chandigarh.
Besides, a video show on Freedom Fighters “Virasat-e-Balidaan – HumaraTirangaHumari Shaan” was screened. Closing ceremony of the event concluded with a Cultural Programme with participation by the faculty, staff and students of the institute.
