Noted cardio vascular surgeon Dr Bedi joins Ivy as Director

County noted cardio vascular surgeon, Dr Harinder Singh Bedi has joined Ivy Hospital, Mohali as Director-Cardio Vascular Endovascular & Thoracic Sciences Department.
Dr Bedi is credited with world’s first three surgeries which are documented in the Limca Book of World Records. He was first to document the first series of 100 patients of multi-vessel beating heart surgery with angiographic follow-up.
This was published in the most prestigious cardiac surgery journal The Annals of Thoracic Surgery and also in the Limca Book of World Records .
Dr Bedi had earlier worked at St Vincents Hospital in Australia. Recently he used a first ever 3D printing technology for treating a large lung malformation.
He has also an innovative procedure which is named after him the Bedi-LIMA buttress technique.
Dr Bedi said that it was his aim to start heart and lung transplants also so that patients from this area need not go to Delhi or Chennai for transplants.
