Now Excise department takes action against Fortuner accident case accused

Punjab state excise department has suspended the “Fortuner accident case” accused inspector Prithpal Singh, in which three persons had already died. The same is confirmed by the department’s additional commissioner (administration) Bhamreet Kaur, IAS.
The department had taken the action, after the Patiala police made an arrest .
Patiala police had already arrested the prime accused in the “Fortuner accident case” that occurred outside Thapar college Patiala on March 29,2021 evening, excise inspector Prithpal singh on April 1, 2021 and the court has ordered his judicial remand for 14 days. After the pronouncement of the judgment, he was shifted to the Sangrur district jail.
A FIR number 78 dated 30-3-2021 was lodged against Fortuner number CH 01 AQ 6969 driver Prithpal Singh resident of House No 50, Urban Estate III, Patiala, under section 297 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) , 337 (causes hurt to any person by doing any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life), 338 (causes grievous hurt to any person by doing any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life), 427 (commits mischief ), 308 (Attempt to commit culpable homicide) , 304 (Whoever commits culpable homicide ) IPC.
Three persons-a farmer Inderjit Singh aged 65 years, Ansh 2 years and Paramvir 15-16 years old student of DAV Public school, had already succumbed to their injuries and died. Another 3-4 persons were still injured and admitted at private/ government hospitals. Some of the injured were still in critical condition.
Accused, Prithpal Singh was recklessly driving Fortuner CH 01 AQ 6969 and hits a Hyndai, Maruti Swift, a motorcycle and farmers standing in the chowk silently and peacefully protesting against the three farm bills, at traffic light point outside Thapar college, Patiala.
