NSS department of Punjabi University gets 10 lakh grant to launch Eco-Clubs in educational institutes

Punjabi University glad to share that Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, the state nodal agencyof Ministry of Forest & Climate Change for implementing“Environment Education Programme” in Punjab has released a grant of 10 lakhs to NSS Department of Punjabi University, Patiala for establishing Eco-Clubs in 100 colleges affiliated to the University and conducting activities like workshops, competitions, exhibitions, campaigns involving10000 volunteers and 100 Nodal Officers.Environment Education Programme is one of the components of the revamped Central Sector Scheme – ‘Environment Education, Awareness, Research and Skill Development (EEARSD).
Prof Mamta Sharma, Nodal Officer of this project shared that Eco club would seek to promote environmental awareness at the grassroot level by creating and nurturing green consciousness among the studentsto take up meaningful environmental activities in real world by building attitude towards sustainability.With Best wishes, Prof Arvind, Vice Chancellor, congratulated and lauded the efforts of NSS department.
