Excise deptt notifies amendment in schedule ‘E’ of Punjab value added tax act

Punjab Government on Tuesday evening notified amendments in Schedule E apended to the Punjab Value Added Tax Act, 2005 thereby substituting in serial No. 1, under the heading “Rate of tax”, for the figures and words “11.8 per cent”, with the figures and words “15.15 per cent”.njab
The notification which was issued by Excise and Taxation Department has also notified substitution in serial No. 2 of the above section under the heading “Rate of tax”, of the figures and words “20.11 per cent”, with the figures and words “23.30 per cent”.
The amendments were notified after due approval to the same was accorded by the Governor Punjab in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (3) of Section 8 of the Punjab Value Added Tax Act, 2005 (Punjab Act No.8 of 2005), and all other powers enabling him in this behalf.
Excise deptt notifies amendment in schedule ‘E’ of Punjab value added tax act. Both the amendments would come into effect from 6th May, 2020 (midnight of 5th and 6th May, 2020), by dispensing with the condition of previous notice, a spokesperson of the Excise Department shared.
