NSS unit of Govt Bikram College celebrated Children’s Day under “ Udarian-Bal Vikas Mela” program

The NSS Unit of Govt. Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala organised a Day’s visit to the Anganwadi Centres of two villages Sidhuwal and Uchha Gaon on Children’s Day under the guidance of College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata.

This Program is scheduled according to the directions received by the Dept. of Social Security and Women and Child Development, Punjab. The Dept. has decided to celebrate this children’s day as International day of the children by hosting a program named Udarian-Bal vikas mela in all Anganwadi Centres of Punjab.

The College NSS program officer Prof. Ram Kumar gave detailed information about the Life and Philosophy of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, The first Prime Minister of India. 50 NSS volunteers from the college along with the In charges of the Anganwadi Centres organised various activities for children.

The children participated in games, debate and Poetry Recitation Competitions organised by the NSS team. Head master of Anganwadi Centres Sh. Kuldeep Singh and his staff cooperated with the NSS team from the College. At end of the program, the college provided refreshment to the children of Anganwadi Centres.

The NSS unit along with NSS program Officers Satinder Kaur, Kavita Garg visited the Anganwadi Centres of Sidhuwal and Uchha Gaon. HEIS Staff members Dr.Harsimran Kaur and Mdm. Gitanjali Goel also assisted the students of NSS Unit during their visit.
