NTAS conferred Kala Rakshak Award on NZCC Director

Patiala –National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS) Patiala, in a simple, but much affectionate felicitation function, organized at N.Z.C.C. Office Complex, honoured artist-Administrator Director North Zone Cultural Centre Saubhagya Vardhan on their return from their cultural campaign of emotional integration, covering interiors of Srinagar Leh-Ladhakh.

NTASians President G.S. Kakkar, director duo. Pran Sabharwal-Sunita Sabharwal, members and artists presented NTAS’ prestigious ‘Kala Rakshak’ Award of honour memento, shawl, bouquets and literary gift  of poetry books of M.S.Jaggi  during thundering applause of the congregation.

Conveying greeting of NTAS’ chief patron philanthropist  Dr. S.P. Singh Oberoi, head Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust  on N.Z.C.C.’s successful  mission, NTAS director Pran Sabharwal said that the coveted award, announced by Oberoi was bestowed on Vardhan in recognition of his outstanding contribution, unmatchable passion and ability towards spreading of arts and their successful dealing with seven states of the North.

Expressing gratitude for the affectionate gesture, Vardhan said that they did not find any terrorist during their campaign and found Kashmiries fearless of terrorism and much appreciative of government’s efforts of ensuring peace and atmosphere of amity and brother hood among Kashmiries.

He lauded duo Pran-Sunita Sabharwal,  the octogenarian theatre couple and team for their relentless efforts of living theatre for 24 hours a day for the last six decades and assured all patronage for healthy theatre activity especially for their 18 years old  Garden Theatre movement, which had presented  207 monthly theatre festivals till date. Sabharwal expressed gratitude to Vardhan for his love for theatre and NTAS and all associates and wished them best of luck from NTAS
