Sardarni Harpal Kaur Brar, a beacon of resilience, hard work, and humility, was born in 1932 in Shergarh Gain Singh, Tehsil Malout, District Muktsar. The cherished daughter of Sardar Hari Singh and Sardarni Sant Kaur, she grew up in a close-knit family with four brothers and two sisters, nurtured by strong values and traditions.
In 1952, she married Sardar Baltej Singh Brar, the son of Sardar Sham Singh and Sardarni Dhan Kaur of Bhittiwala village, Muktsar. Their union was marked by love, respect, and shared commitment. Following the untimely passing of her husband, Sardarni Harpal Kaur faced life’s challenges with unwavering courage. She took charge of the joint family’s agricultural endeavors, transforming their farming and orchard operations into thriving ventures. Her vision and determination earned her admiration as a trailblazer in her community.
A devoted mother, she placed the highest priority on her children’s education and moral upbringing, instilling in them the virtues of integrity, diligence, and perseverance. Her son, Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, has made significant contributions to technical education and currently serves as the Registrar of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda. Her grandson, Dr. Gunteshwar Singh, who has successfully completed his MBBS, continues to carry forward her legacy of excellence and service.
Sardarni Harpal Kaur’s life was a testament to simplicity, discipline, and an indomitable spirit. Even at the age of 92, she remained an inspiring presence, guiding her family and community with her wisdom and grace.
On January 2, 2025, as family, friends, and admirers from all walks of life will gather at Gurdwara Bhittiwala village for her Bhog Ceremony to honor a life well-lived—a life that touched countless hearts and uplifted her community. Her legacy of humility, perseverance, and selfless service will resonate for generations to come.
