Officers negligence: 36 days after retirement UT senior IAS officer is still working in union government’s record

Yesterday, on December 6 ,2023  the ministry of personnel has released the list of chief secretaries of all the states and advisors to the administrators of all the union territories.

As per the latest list Dharam Pal,IAS is still the advisor to Chandigarh’s administrator Banwari Lal Purohit. Dharam Pal, IAS of 1988 batch of AGMUT has already been retired in October 31,2023.

He had served the city beautiful for more than two years. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is yet to name his replacement.

As the Administration waits, the ministry of home affairs (MHA), 2000-batch Haryana-cadre IAS officer and UT’s home secretary Nitin Kumar Yadav is looking after the additional charge of the post of UT Advisor.

Whereas, senior IAS officer Atal Dulloo who was named as the new chief secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, replacing Arun Kumar Mehta,who superannuate on November 30, 2023 is listed in the list released by the ministry of personnel.

Few months ago when VK Janjua retired as chief secretary of Punjab the ministry has done the same goof up. They show Janjua as the chief secretary in their list whereas Anurag Verma had already been appointed as next chief secretary and taken the charge.
