On International Museum Day NGO urges CM Mann to build KISAAN MUSEUM

On International Museum Day, Society for People’s Welfare and Awareness, an NGO of Patiala has appealed to the Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann to establish (build) one NATIONAL KISAAN MUSEUM (ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਅਜਾਇਬ ਘਰ) dedicated to the hard working farmers of the country.
Dr DS Bhullar, president of the NGO along with General Secretary Devinder Singh Shermajra, in a joint press release said there is need to preserve ancient instruments and gadgets used in the farming and the old methods of agriculture along with display of the historical progress in farming in the form of modern high tech methods being used by farmers in cultivation.
Training on new methods of farming, motivational programmes to save underground water and electricity along with pollution free farming programmes can also be made part of such museums which otherwise will attract people as a part of regional tourism.
Important historical events and happenings related to agriculture and farming can be an important and integral part of such museums.
On International Museum Day NGO urges CM Mann to build KISAAN MUSEUM . Such project will be a big historical achievement of the state government and will attract national and international tourists especially if constructed on National Highway in the Punjab State.
About International Museum Day
International Museum Day (IMD) is an international day held annually on or around 18 May, coordinated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM). The event highlights a specific theme which changes every year reflecting a relevant theme or issue facing museums internationally.
IMD provides the opportunity for museum professionals to meet the public and alert them as to the challenges that museums face, and raise public awareness on the role museums play in the development of society. It also promotes dialogue between museum professionals.
