With advent of crucial paddy season in Punjab, 1400 MW Nabha Power Limited Plant, at Rajpura in Patiala district, is one of the most efficient coal based thermal plants is on full steam, supplying 24×7 reliable power to the state. The plant clocked a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 88.5% . It was placed under reserve shutdown by PSPCL on 27 March 2020 due to lower demand in the state and was fired up again on 22 May 2020.
The plant supplied 28 Million Units (MUs) to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), fulfilling 13% of the overall State demand which peaked at 9296 MW at an average variable cost of 3.03 Rs/Unit. Paddy season-Nabha Power runs full throttle .The plant has a 25-year long term PPA with PSPCL.
