Patiala Archer won Silver in S Asian Archery Chamionship
Vinayak Verma a resident of Patiala bought laurels for the city by wining a Silver Medal in 3rd South Asian Archery championship held recently at Dhaka , Bangladesh 24 rth March to 28th March 2018. Vinayak verma has won already Gold medal and declared best Recurve Archer of India in under 17 category in 1st khelo india school games held at New Delhi .
After wining the Silver Medal at South Asian Archery Championship, he credited his achievement to his Coaches Jeevanjot singh Teja, Gaurav sharma and to his parents.He said, he had won many Gold , Silver medals in various tournaments at State and National levels in Category Under 17, this was not possible with the support of my coaches, my parents. He is a student of Narain Public School, Patiala
His father works as a Jr.Astt. in Municipal Corporation Patiala said that Vinayak goal is to bring a Gold medal for India in Olympic games. He said, as he is from a middle class family and is expecting help from centre and state Governments to better training, so that he can represent India in Olympics and bought laurels for Patiala.
Earlier Bangladesh and India reached the final in each of the 10 golddeciding encounters with the latter winning the other four golds in recurve women’s singles and team events and men’s compound singles and women’s recurve team events
