Patiala district administration’s laziness to act tough proves a boon for private schools; institutes openly defying govt orders

Patiala district administration failed to implement the state chief minister’s order in true spirits due to some unknown reasons.
Though the department has issued notices to some schools on Thursday , a holiday in schools ,but misses the reputed schools of the city who disobeyed the orders.
“To disobey government orders seems to be a status symbol for reputed private schools in Patiala” said a teacher whose school has directed them to hold online classes from homes despite the summer vacations.
Even after four days, many schools are still open and has called their teachers to attend the school.
A teacher of another reputed school on the condition of anonymity said “our school is even planning to organize summer camp for the students in these holidays.”
Another school teacher said “ we are told to come to school till the last working day of this month as the school is giving full month salary to them.’
A school right under the nose of district administration is working and has called their teachers to attend the school, even after four days of the beginning of summer vacations.”
Another teacher said “ its not a rocket science to check the presence of teachers in the school. The authorities can come and check the attendance register, CCTV footage, parking areas, if they really want. But, the administration calls the principal and they simply convey that no teachers are called and befooled the administration. Moreover these are reputed schools and management has links in political, administrative circles. So the administration avoids taking strict action against them. ”
On Monday, May 20,2024, Punjab government had ordered the closure of all government, private, aided schools in Punjab from May 21 to June 30,2024 due to the inclement weather conditions.

When contacted the deputy DEO Patiala, Ravinderpal Singh on the schools are still working on the fourth day of summer vacations he said “our department has issued notices to Akal Academy, Millennium School, Mata Gujri School, Edumount School, DAV Centenary School, Guru Teg Bahadur School, Bhupindra International School, New Daffodils School, Milestone School” for not adhering to the government orders. When questioned about other reputed schools of Patiala who are open even on the fourth day of the summer vacations or are taking online classes, he didn’t say any word.
