Patiala fire tragedy-Jai Inder urges CM to provide special compensation to the family

A sudden fire broke out at the Delux fashion store in Gher Sodhian, a densely populated area of the city, on Sunday morning. On hearing the news of the fire Captain Amarinder Singh’s daughter & State President of Jat Mahasabha Women wing, Jai Inder Kaur immediately visited the spot to assess the damage caused by the fire.
Earlier in the morning due to a short circuit major fire broke out in a clothes shop in Gher Sodhian area, but acting swiftly the fire department was able to control the situation, so that no other adjoining shops were affected.
Praising the fire department officials Jai Inder Kaur said that, “The fire department did a tremendous job of first containing the fire and then completely dousing it, because of they hadn’t acted swiftly the situation could have gotten really out of hand. A team of 60 people worked tirelessly in difficult conditions for over 12 hours to bring the situation completely under control”
Assuring the family Jai Inder Kaur said that she will personally do everything possible to provide them some relief. She also urged the Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to provide family with a special compensation on humanitarian grounds.

She also reminded the chief minister Bhagwant Mann that the single wire project brought in by former chief minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh is hanging in lurch and requested him to assure that the project is completely as soon as possible to provide people of inner city relief from dangerous entangling wires.
Accompanying her were Patiala Mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, Punjab Lok Congress Patiala President KK Malhotra, Municipal Councillor Atul Joshi among others.
