Patiala Heritage Festival 2024: Patialvies to miss many events, craft fair extravaganza

As announced earlier in December 2023, the last phase of Patiala Heritage Festival 2024, many events like kite flying, air balloon shows, special kite-making programmes for children, medal gallery cultural performances among others are not going to be held this time .This time only limited functions are going to be held during the annual Patiala Heritage Festival such as cultural evening, military literature festival, dog show, heritage walk, Punjabi singer night, food festival. Gwalior Gharana’s singing styles, classical singing is going to be cultural attractions of the last leg of this four days festival.
While divulging details deputy commissioner Patiala Sakshi Sawhney said the festival will start on February 2,2024 morning with a Military Literature Festival event at local Khalsa College, Patiala.This is the second time that MLF is going to be held in Patiala In the evening a classical music evening will be held at Qila Mubarak, Patiala where a classical dance ballet based on Meera by the Bharatiya Kala Kendra will be performed for the first time in Patiala. During this a solo performance by Pandit Subhendra Rao and Saskia Rao will be held.
On February 3 morning Military Lit Festival will be held at Khalsa College, Patiala and in the evening Pandit Laxman Krishna Rao and Meeta Pandit of Gwalior Gharana and Nazir Ahmad Qawal’s performance will be held at Qila Mubarak.
On February 4, Baradrai Garden walk will be organized with the help of Patiala Foundation at 10 am. A food festival will also be oragnised. In the evening at 6:00 pm famous Punjabi Singer Gurnam Bhullar will perform at Punjabi University, Patiala.
On February 10, a heritage walk at qila Mubarak will be held. On February, a Dog show will be held at local polo ground.
She added that the entry is free in all events and every one is invited to be a part of this glorious event.
This time no photography and painting contests, rangoli contest, plays, craft fair etc are going to be held in four days cultural extravaganza .
As per available information the star attraction of Patiala Heritage Festival-craft fair will be held separately, in October 2024.
