Patiala Police law enforcement initiative : conducts full-night patrol to track down criminals

In a major law enforcement initiative, Patiala Police carried out a full-night patrol and raid operation, codenamed ‘Night Domination’, across the district from 10 PM on April 11 to 4 AM on April 12. The operation was conducted under the leadership of Senior IPS Officer and Special DGP Ishwar Singh, and supervised by SSP Dr. Nanak Singh.
Special DGP Ishwar Singh said that this statewide initiative has been launched on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and under the guidance of DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav, with the dual objective of maintaining law and order and strengthening community trust.
During the operation, the Special DGP made surprise visits to key areas including checkpoints, Patiala Bus Stand, and the railway station. He directly interacted with police officials and local residents to assess the ground-level impact of the operation.
He stated, “Apart from evaluating the effectiveness of the Night Domination initiative, I also reviewed the performance of the on-duty teams and received valuable public feedback. It is encouraging to see that citizens feel safer due to increased police visibility.”
The Special DGP emphasized that Punjab Police is committed to transparent and accountable policing aimed at ensuring public safety and community confidence.
He also reviewed the working of special nakas and encouraged officers to maintain high professional standards. “These special vehicle checking drives will continue to ensure enhanced security and strict enforcement of law and order,” he added.
Highlighting the department’s priorities, he said, “Curbing street crime and eradicating drug menace remains the top priority of Punjab Police.”
